ABOUT leonel chee
Leonel is an award-winning non-binary director and screenwriter from Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and the founder of Chee Films. Their passion for film is reflected in their short films, "Amparo’s Offerings" and "Imelda and Luis," both of which premiered at the prestigious Vancouver International Film Festival. These works have been recognized and screened at numerous festivals around the world, solidifying their reputation as an innovative creator.
Currently, Leonel is developing their first two feature films. The script for one of them was selected in 2022 as part of the official selection at the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, Cuba. With a committed focus on diversity and inclusion, Leonel continues to explore powerful narratives that reflect the richness of the human experience.
